Here we go again!

I can't believe how long it has taken me to post about our new addition - 2 months to be exact. On Dec 6, we brought home Baby H to stay with us until??????? We are so grateful to have him in our family and it sure has been an adjustment. While he has been in our home for two months, everyone has been sick twice, we had Christmas (which still seems like a blur and I will post about soon, I hope) and we have learned how to get used to another person in the house.

Baby H is so sweet and loves to laugh, yet 1 second later, he can be screaming at the top of his lungs, with us trying to figure out what is going on. His cry is very loud and that has taken some getting used to, but he is also just so loveable, so that makes up for it. I will be honest, that the first few days were rough - he cried most of the time and spit up so much (we finally changed formula which helped!). I am sure that he had some adjustment coming to our house and we had adjustment to him as well.

But we have adjusted and love having him here. He especially loves to be around Sean and vice versa. Sean and Baby H seem to have such a special bond. Sean talks to him all the time and Baby H follows Sean with his eyes wherever he is and he loves to be held upright on the floor playing next to Sean. Sean loves to give Baby H hugs and loves and just be near him.

Baby H is 5 months old and weighs about 18 1/2 lbs. He already has 2 teeth on the bottom middle which he got about 2 weeks ago! He loves to sit up and is almost sitting up by himself. Any thing we can do to keep him upright makes him the most happy and he loves to be in the saucer. He is grabbing at his feet and usually does that while we are trying to change his diaper. He loves to eat and sleep and be with the family. He is pretty friendly to most people, but he definitely knows we are his family right now and sometimes does not like others - it is a good feeling to know that he wants me over others!

We don't know how long we will have him. We pray that if it is Heavenly Father's will, we might get to have him forever. I won't share the details, but I will say that currently DHS is doing what they call a due dilligent search for related family that might be able or want to care for him. They have to do that by law, and this is one of the parts that makes us nervous. We are trying to have faith in Heavenly Father's plan and to help Sean understand that this is only temporary now. That has been hard, because of the last baby that left. Sean is much more attached to Baby H so we pray that all will be OK. We ask for your prayers as well. If there is no family found able or willing to care for Baby H, he will continue to stay in our care, while his birthmom and birthdad, either do their part to have him come home, or their rights are terminated. This could take 6 mo - 1 year.

In the meantime, we will enjoy Baby H every day that he is here.
