Christmas and Arizona Trip
We had the pleasure of spending Christmas in Tucson, AZ this year. It was wonderful to get out of town and see all of Steve's family. We thought we were going to get warm in Arizona, but instead got many days of rain (and snow) and highs of 40s (although I will still take that over highs in the teens like CO had).
We spent most of our time indoors visiting with family, playing games and eating. I actually won many of the games (usually I lose) and so that was a treat. We spent Christmas eve at Steve's cousin Lisa's house with all of his sisters and cousins and aunt and uncle. We also had a small gift exchange with just Steve's sisters and parents. Steve and I did get the opportunity to have a date - going shopping and eating lunch at Macayo's while Steve's parents watched Sean. After Christmas we took Sean to the Internation Wildlife Museum, which was rather enjoyable.
Sean did pretty well on the trip. He cut his upper left eye tooth while we were there, which made for a couple of interesting days and one horrible night. He handled the drive (11 and 12 hours respectively) pretty well - we just kept him occupied with books and toys. He really enjoyed his grandparents and cousins and aunts and uncles, although he was slow to warm up to some of them.
We also were able to spend two nights with Steve's sister Jolene and her family in Maricopa (just outside of Phoenix). We enjoyed games with them and holding their newborn twin foster babies, that they received just a week before Christmas!
All in all, it was a great time and now we are glad to be home enjoying life again.
Snow in Tucson!
