Halloween Events

Since Halloween was on Sunday this year, we did not do traditional trick or treating or giving out candy. Instead we participated in a few local events in town. The first was a week before Halloween - Truck N Treat. Where the kids get to dress up and come to downtown Fruita where city trucks, emergency vehicles, and buses are parked for kids to explore and trick or treat. Sean loves this event - as he very much likes trucks. His favorites - the garbage truck (there were two) and the fire trucks (there were also two - city and airport). He also loved the buses and this year was not afraid to go into the vehicles that were decorated.

The second event we went to was two days before Halloween and was Trick or Treat Street in downtown Fruita - we went trick or treating to all of the shops downtown. Sean was still getting over his cold but he really wanted to go - for the candy and also his friend Joshua was coming with us. By the end he was practically sleep walking, but I think he had a good time.

Then on Sunday we enjoyed a quiet evening at home without the rush of Halloween trick or treating.

At the door of the large dumptruck.

Coming out of the "haunted" school bus - he kept going back inside and eventually we had to reach in and pull him out!

I love how little he looks next to this tire of the airport firetruck.

One of the "trucks" was an ice cream truck and you got to walk through it and pick an ice cream from their freezer. Sean picked a drumstick and he would not do anything until he could eat it all. Of course, we helped.

Sean's favorite truck - the garbage truck!

Trick or Treat Street - didn't want to stop for a picture!

I love this picture of the back of Sean and Steve heading to the Civic Center to trick or treat!
